  • San Diego City and Mesa Colleges Earn Military Friendly Designation

    San Diego Mesa College and San Diego City College and have earned Gold and Silver status respectively as Military Friendly schools for 2023-2024. Mesa College maintained its Gold status from the previous year and City College was awarded its inaugural Silver status. “The San Diego Community College District (SDCCD) and our colleges are honored to serve active-duty military, veterans, and their families with accessible higher education programs which recognize and value their military experience,” said SDCCD Acting Chancellor Gregory Smith. “The prestigious Military Friendly school recognition is the result of the extraordinary work our faculty, classified professionals, and administrators at San Diego City College and San Diego Mesa College do each day to serve our military communities successfully.”

  • Mesa College Alumna Annette Bening on Meeting a "Dire" Moment,

    Los Angeles, CA - - It wasn’t the Oscars, but close. On Sept. 25, 2021, the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences christened its $484 million Renzo Piano-designed movie museum with a starry gala. That night, Annette Bening, Tom Hanks and Bob Iger received Pillar Awards, recognizing their efforts leading the capital campaign to complete the long-gestating project. The scene represented a moment of true unity for Hollywood and the city of Los Angeles that, at long last, had a new landmark to brag about. Less than two years later, that communal pride has given way to deep fractures across an industry at a standstill amid the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes. As the battle rages, Bening is back in the lights with a new mission.

  • The Resistance of the Echo & La Eco-Resistencia

    San Diego, CA. On Monday, August 21, 2023, the San Diego Mesa College Art Gallery will display The Resistance of the Echo & La Eco-Resistencia: a multimedia installation by artist Francisco Eme. This multimedia installation is an urban ecology study focusing on the biological dynamics of a canyon situated in a suburb of San Diego. This work will be displayed from August 21st to September 14th, in the San Diego Mesa College Art Gallery.

  • Mesa College Athletics Offering Softball Clinic for Local Players

    On Saturday, August 19, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., the San Diego Mesa College Softball team will host a Softball Clinic for local girls, ages 6-16, at all levels of experience. The Clinic will be run by coaches and players and will focus on both defensive and offensive skills. Additionally, the team will host and question and answer session, and focus on the importance of team building and comradery.

  • It´s not too late for students to start their journey at Mesa College

    San Diego, CA – With only four weeks left until the start of the Fall 2023 semester, prospective students can still enroll for open Fall 2023 courses at San Diego Mesa College. Mesa has both full semester 16 week classes as well as flexible “short-term” 8-week courses. Seats are still available in over 400 classes; offered in both on-campus and on-line formats. Short-term (8-weeks) and evening classes are designed to accommodate those with busy schedules as well as allow students to earn units more quickly.
