Faculty Hiring Prioritization Committee

Purpose

This purpose of this committee is two-fold. Every year, as part of program review, programs can request a new faculty member be hired. In order to to this, the program fills out a new faculty request form. This form is submitted to the Faculty Hiring Prioritization Committee (FHPC). The committee then reads all of the requests, scores them, and develops a prioritized list that is sent through to Planning and Institutional Effectiveness (PIE) and then on to the President's Cabinet (PCAB) and finally the college president. The college president uses this list to determine which positions will be hired. In addition to developing the prioritized list, at the end of each cycle, the committee examines the request form, the scoring rubric and the process and proposes changes, if deemed necessary, through the structure mentioned above.

Finally, the committee also provides training to program review lead writers to help them with the request form.
