Who is eligible for tutoring?

individual activities, as the need arises.

The Classroom Tutor for your class section attends the regular class meetings, and
is readily available to provide you more information about when and where each Classroom
Tutoring session is held.

What subjects are available?
We currently serve a number of courses at San Diego Mesa College, including Math

FAQ - Faculty
How does having a Classroom Tutor benefit my students?
Classroom Tutoring has been shown to be an effective way of improving student studying,
performance, and retention.
Does the Classroom Tutor participate in my class?
No. The Classroom Tutor is there to observe the class during the regular class meeting,
both to refresh themselves on material, and to observe where students may be struggling.
They will then use this information to construct their own "CT Session", where they
will meet with the students to help with study skills, group work, and cultivating
independent learning using your class material.
Do I need to train/assess the Classroom Tutor?
No. We will handle the training and assessment of the Classroom Tutor, so you don't
have to worry about having extra workload to manage.
Will the Classroom Tutor work with my teaching style?
Absolutely! The Classroom Tutor is there to assist students in CT Sessions with material
that you have presented in class. Their CT Sessions should in no way conflict with
your teaching.
I have someone that I think might be a good fit for the program. Can I refer them
to you?
Definitely. We greatly appreciate your input, and would gladly welcome any students
to apply that you think might be a good fit. If you have someone that you think might
want to see more about the program, please have them go here
My discipline is currently served by the Classroom Tutoring Program, and I would like
to request a Classroom Tutor for my class. How can I do this?
We've made it so easy to request a Classroom Tutor. A 1 minute form will let us know
that you want a Classroom Tutor for your course section. Please fill out the form
found here.
I don't see my discipline currently being served by the Classroom Tutoring Program.
Can I get a Classroom Tutor?
We are in the process of rolling the program out to all disciplines by Spring 2017.
Due the nature of the Title V Grant, we are offering Classroom Tutoring to certain
specified disciplines first, and adding new disciplines as we are able to do so.
